Applying
your student visa successfully from Mongolia to Canada
Mongolia is a developing country and getting visa to come to Canada
is a big challenge. Too many prospective students denied from
visa simply because they don't know how to correctly fill out the forms
and follow up with visa office.
If I was a visa officer, I would love to give all the students
a chance to come to school here in Canada based on their merit alone,
since that was the only thing students had back then.
I
truly believe an international students from any counties regardless of
its poor or richness, work very hard. I know many students who worked
full-time and studied full-time. It is not easy but you know at the end
it worth it.
So if you really want to become a student and live and work in Canada
here is my advise to you:
When
you apply for your visa you need to have following documentation ready:
( Let's assume that you already got accepted and have your school
documentation in place)
- Application form filled out
clearly and accurate.
The dates, work palaces and names make sure all
accurate and clear. Just a simple date mistake can make you disqualify
for visa.
For example: you may think born June 5, 1987 can be typed
5/6/1987, however, visa officer may refuse that you have incorrect date
because he or she thinks it should have been 6/5/1987.
- Usually
paying your tuition in
advance for up
to one year and supplying that information alone with your application
doubles your chance to get visa.
The reason behind this is: If you pay
your full year tuition then most likely you are going to school and
continue your study. It takes quite sometimes to get used to new
country and learn to live on your own.
All
colleges and universities offer refund guarantee if you are unable to
obtain your visa. Usually they will refund all your money less the
administration fees. You need to give them the refusal letter from CIC.
- Your ties
going
back to
Mongolia. It could be
most important part of your application. If you have family or your
friends who can offer your position in their company after you complete
your training, then you need a letter from them. Attach that letter
along with your application.
- Mail
your
application along with your passport
by
registered mail. It takes them about 3 months to make
decision.
- Request
Multi-entry visa. This way you can only apply once.
otherwise you have to apply for visa every time you visit your home and
come back.
Sometimes
the visa officer also think that multi-entry visa is better than single
entry visa request, since you will be in and out several times during
your stay.
- Be
prepared to accept the both decision.
Statistically you have 50% chance to get visa. If you do your paperwork
accordingly you will increase your chance more favorable to
you.
If
you don't get your student visa, then you need to prepare to go for
another one, and another one until you get one. It will all
depend on how badly you really want it.
- You
can do it all on your own.
I heard people charge you to do this for anywhere between 10-15k. That
is almost your whole years school tuition fee. It is not worth paying
that much to get just a visa. You could pay that money to your school
instead.
Again, you and your family need to decide what is good
for you. Remember! No one can guarantee your student visa especially if
you Mongolian and applying visa through Beijing, China to come to
Canada.
Here is a list of schools
in Ontario GTA area where you can apply to become
an international student.
